Arsenal’s star midfielder Mesut Ozil scripted history on Monday in the match against Leicester City in the Premier League – he scored a goal to overcome Tottenham Hotspurs legend Jurgen Klinsmann as the highest-scoring German in the league’s history.

The achievement came after Ozil’s remarkable performance against Leicester City, where he led his team as the skipper to make a comeback after going a goal down at the early stages of the game. He scored the crucial equalizer and pulled the strings for Unai Emery’s side throughout the match.

The German midfielder adds another accolade to his glittering career so far, since joining Arsenal for a record fee of 42.5 million pounds, Ozil has won Arsenal player of the season in 2015, that season he recorded 19 premier league assists-which is the second highest in the all-time record, just one below Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

The 29-year-old is also the fastest ever player to record 50 assists in the Premier League. The records have just kept on coming for the playmaker but he has also gone through a fair share of controversies.

Ozil is a world cup winner with Germany football team, he withdrew his services from the national team following the 2018 edition of the World Cup citing racism.

Following the 3-1 win against Leicester, the Gunners continued their impressive form which extended to ten wins on Monday. Should, Ozil continue his scintillating form with the Gunners, it will be a major boost in surge of the premier league title.

Currently, Arsenal are in the fourth position but just are two behind the top of the table, which is led by Manchester City.
