Mithali Raj is arguably one of the best batters in women’cricket. With loads of experience behind her back she has inspired millions of young girls to take to the sport in a country where women are usually treated unfairly. Hence, Mithali has been the inspirational figure for such girls/women. With all the hype and buzz around Indian Premier league 2018 over, cricket fans in India are certainly feeling a sense of void and Mithali senses that for sure. At least that is what her tweet indicates.

Here is the tweet.

So, Mithali is simply asking her people back home to root for the women in blue as they get ready to play the Twenty20 Asia Cup 2018, which is slated to kick-off from June 3. We say it is absolutely fair that the Indian audiences start watching and following the good things the women cricketers are doing. They also deserve a lot of respect as most of them have overcome odds to be finally playing for the national team and that is a matter of huge pride.

In the past, due to less TV broadcast women cricketers were never at the forefront, but with the advancement of technology and broadcast we surely expect our women cricketers to get their due.

Meanwhile, in 2017 India unexpectedly emerged as the runner-up in the ICC Women’s World Cup. That was a landmark achievement by the ladies. They ensured our women cricketers find a lace in the global map.

As they ready to embark on a new chapter (Asia Cup), we can only urge cricket fans to tune in and watch the women bring glory for our nation. Harmanpreet Kaur is set to lead the Indian squad in Malaysia.
