New Delhi: Indian cricketer Mohammed Shami responded to allegations of an extra-marital affair, domestic abuse, made against him from a Facebook account bearing the name of his wife Hasin Jahan, saying it is nothing but a conspiracy to ruin his game.
News agency ANI, on Wednesday morning, reported that Hasin Jahan, wife of Shami, has accused her 27-year-old husband of assault and having extramarital affairs.
“In a bid to expose the pacer’s extra-marital affair, she posted several screenshots of Messenger and Whatsapp messages on her Facebook wall.
“Married to Shami since 2014, Hasin Jahan reportedly claimed that the bowler is having several extra-marital affairs simultaneously,” the ANI report said. “Notably, the post, which was uploaded from an unverified account, was titled as ‘Shami’s enjoyment’ and had several pictures of the pacer’s text messages to multiple women.”
“Shami forced me to put up that Facebook post. I thought one day things would be fine but five years have gone by and things are worse now. I have been mentally and physically tortured,” Hasin Jahan told ABP news
“He returned from South Africa and booked a hotel room in Dubai and stayed there – I still tried to be patient despite all that. I asked Shami what was happening but he kept lying repeatedly,” she said. “He threatened me and said I would ruin my life, I’d make my life hell. I told him to say sorry, accept his faults and lead a better life.”
“I tried to convince myself for the sake of my family and daughter but he kept on harassing me and when I found those obscene chats with multiple women, all hell broke. I cannot tolerate this anymore and I have decided to take legal actions with all the available evidence.”
However, fast bowler Shami took to Twitter and Facebook to claim his innocence and clarifying that the allegations are baseless and there is a conspiracy at work intended to tarnish his image.

“Ye jitna bhi news hamara personal life ke bare may chal raha hai, ye sab sarasar jhut hai, ye koi bahut bada humare khilap sajish hai or ye mujhe Badnam karne or mera game kharab karne ka kosis ki ja rahi hai (all these news reports about our personal lives are completely false. This is a big conspiracy against us and there is an attempt to malign me and harm my game),” Shami said.
