Indian pacer Mohammad Shami has been ruled out of the historic one-off Test against Afghanistan. Shami has been ruled out after he failed the fitness test. The Indian pacer has been replaced by Navdeep Saini. Shami has also been going through a lot in personal life. Saini, who plays for Delhi would get an opportunity to be in the Indian mix, which would also help him grow as a cricketer.
All the Indian players were supposed to undergo a fitness test and BCCI had made it clear that if a player fails the test, he will not be picked. it seems BCCI is walking the talk, which probably is the right way ahead keeping the future in mind.
The fast bowler from Bengal managed to play just four IPL matches in 2018 for Delhi Daredevils. In those 3 matches he picked up 3 wickets. Shami has also been facing the heat on the personal front where his wife Hasin Jahan has made allegations against the cricketer, ranging from dowry to adultery. Shami was recently selected for the World XI team which played against west Indies at Lords. He was in the squad but was benched.
Recently, interacting with the media he said, “Hasin has brought a lot of allegations about me in last few months and this is an addition to that. That’s good, then I will invite her to be present at my second marriage (laughing).”
