“MS Dhoni was looking good, fit. He focussed on training just like he always does and was as normal as he has always been. He trained like the way he did last year or 2 years ago. There is nothing that changes when it comes to his preparation. His routine, his mindset, everything is the same,” Balaji was quoted as saying by India Today. “Dhoni was focussed on getting ready for the IPL. He is that kind of a person who always takes it one moment at a time,” he added.
Dhoni has not played cricket since India’s exit from the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup against New Zealand, was supposed to make his grand comeback in the IPL.
For Dhoni as well, this was his big opportunity to get among runs and make it to the T20 World Cup India squad.
Currently, with India in a 21-day lockdown to stop the spread of the virus, it looks highly unlikely that the IPL will take place this year.
