MS Dhoni Shows Impeccable Presence of Mind to Nearly Catch Peter Handscomb Sweeping During 2nd ODI at Nagpur Against Australia | WATCH VIDEO
Former India skipper MS Dhoni once again proved why he is so valuable to Men in Blue's scheme of things.
Former India skipper MS Dhoni once again proved why he is so valuable to Men in Blue’s scheme of things. On this occasion, he gave us a glimpse of his impeccable presence of mind to nearly do the impossible. Kedar Jadhav was making it difficult for the Australians with his low trajectory and no pace whatsoever. In order to up the ante, Handscomb tried paddling and was pretty much doing it well. On one such occasion, when Handscomb looked to paddle it fine again, Dhoni showed great anticipation as he took a foot to his right even before Handscomb played the shot. The Australian went ahead with the shot, Dhoni was in place and it was catchable. Dhoni missed the catch but still won hearts with his streetsmart anticipation. Eventually, Handscomb scored a 48 off 59 balls.

That move by Dhoni put a doubt in the batsman’s mind, who did not repeat the shot again. Meanwhile, it was not a day to remember for the 37-year-old veteran as he registered a golden duck with the bat.

The Men in Blue won the match by eight runs to take a 2-0 lead in the series and they would like to seal it at Ranchi with another win. Kuldeep Yadav starred with the ball as he picked up three wickets after India captain Virat Kohli registered his 40th ODI ton.
“It felt good (to get to 40 ODI hundreds) but it is just a number. It feels good to win games for India,” Kohli said after the match.
