MS Dhoni can possibly do anything! The former captain of India showed the presence of mind near the boundary ropes during a practice session on the eve of the 1st T20I against Australia. The ball was going for a six, Dhoni gets himself in a proper position, knowing well where the rope is. He then catches the ball but realises he is going to overbalance himself. He pops the ball in the air, gets oversteps and then gets back on the field of play to finally catch the ball.
Here is the video of Dhoni’s brilliance near the ropes without the gloves.
Is this a hint that Dhoni may play as a pure batsman in the team at Vizag with Pant donning the gloves? Dhoni has regained good form in the Australia series, where he bagged the Man of the Series and silenced the critics with the bat. On the other hand, Indian cricket’s young prodigy Rishabh Pant has also become very popular among the fans following impressive displays in the recently concluded series against Australia and New Zealand. Both the cricketers are very much in the fray for making the World Cup squad and are expected to get a lot of match time during the series against Australia.
Meanwhile, the Men in Blue will look to display their best form which would help them secure a place in the squad of the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup.
Skipper Virat Kohli will return to the side for the team’s final encounter before this year’s 50-over showpiece with two T20s followed by a five-match one-day international series.
