“In his 1st or 2nd year in Indian team, I remember he said, he wants to make 30lakhs from playing cricket so he can live peacefully rest of his life in Ranchi,” Jaffer wrote replying to a fan. However, the former skipper went on to become one of the most successful captains to have led India. He led India to the inaugural World T20 win in 2007, which was followed by the 2011 World Cup.
The 38-year-old cricketer made his debut way back in 2004 against Bangladesh and was unfortunately run out for a duck in his debut. He scored 22 runs in the next three matches before he was promoted at No 3 against Pakistan.
Promoted in the batting order, Dhoni smashed a breathtaking 148 against Pakistan at Vizag and dince there has been no looking back.
