New Zealand Mosque Shooting: The touring Bangladesh team had to return to the team hotel in Christchurch following a frightening shooting incident that took place in the Christchurch’s Masjid Al Noor. Bangladeshi players escaped the shootout as they had not yet reached the mosque to offer their Friday prayers. It is being learnt that just when the players were about to enter the mosque they were informed by a lady about the gunman inside the mosque. Once the cricketers heard that, they returned to their buses and left for the team hotel.

Cricketer Tamim Iqbal spoke about the incident calling it ‘frightening’.

Meanwhile, a joint decision between NZC and Bangladesh has been made to cancel the Hagley Oval Test. Again both teams and support staff groups are safe.

It is not confirmed if cricketers were the target but thankfully they have been unhurt in the entire shooting horror.
