Berlin: It was a night to remember for the Spanish football team as they beat England at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on Sunday to clinch their record fourth at the European championship. Nico Williams, Mikel Oyarzabal were the stars for Spain as they found the back of the net in the well-deserved 2-1 win. No goals were scored in the first half as both sides failed to break the stalemate. Nico Williams’ broke the deadlock just after half-time. With England reeling following Williams’ goal, the Three Lions found some respite when Cole Palmer scored in the 73rd-minute.

England hadn’t won a major title since the 1966 World Cup. This was the team’s second straight European Championship final, having lost in a penalty shootout in the final to Italy three years ago. The teams had taken different paths to the final, which will take place at Berlin’s Olympiastadion — the 71,000-seat venue built for 1936 Olympic Games.
