Known for his simplicity and modesty, former Indian skipper MS Dhoni knows just how to win hearts on and off the field. Following his Chennai Super Kings (CSK) side’s defeat against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, Dhoni’s heartfelt gesture for an aged lady fan was simply touching.

The MS Dhoni-led CSK suffered their first defeat of the season after falling short of 37 runs against Mumbai Indians.

After the match, despite seeming evidently disturbed by the result of the fixture, Dhoni took time off to meet the old lady, who had come to watch the match in Mumbai. She carried a poster with ‘I am here only for Dhoni’ written on it.

The 37-year-old was seen interacting with his special fan, clicked pictures and also gifted her a signed CSK jersey. The pictures and videos of this humble act was shared by the CSK and BCCI media and is taking the internet by storm.

In the match, the CSK batsmen, in contradiction of their typical displays, lacked a solid performance in their chase of MI’s score of 170. The visitors failed to stay in the hunt following a stunning effort by Mumbai’s Hardik Pandya, who was awarded the ‘Man of the Match’.

Reflecting on what went wrong in the match, Dhoni said: “I think quite a few things went wrong for us. We started well, were right on the mark for the first 10-12 overs. Then, a few catches were dropped, a few misfields, the death overs bowling wasn’t great. We don’t have bowlers who hit the deck, it was slightly tough on them.”
