With the Ranchi ODI in a day’s time, former India cricketer Aakash Chopra revealed his playing XI for the 3rd ODI. According to Chopra, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant still do not find a spot in the XI, whereas he feels after a good game at Nagpur Kuldeep Yadav should be rested and Yuzvendra Chahal should get a game. He also feels it is time to give Bhuvneshwar Kumar a go instead of in-form Mohammed Shami. Ravindra Jadeja, after a good Nagpur game, should make the cut. The rest of the squad remains the same. He also named the Australian XI he feels should take the field at Ranchi. According to Chopra, he feels the Australian top-order lacks experience compared to the Indian top-order. He feels Jason Behrendorff should be brought in place of Nathan Lyon as Glenn Maxwell and Adam Zampa can play as the frontline spinners.
“Australia have got just three batsmen in their squad who have crossed the 1000-run mark in ODI cricket – Aaron Finch, Shaun Marsh, and Glenn Maxwell. No other player has scored 1000 runs or more apart from these three. Whereas if you take a look at the Indian team then you will find the likes of Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli, and MS Dhoni. The likes of Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav and even Ravindra Jadeja have scored more than 1000 runs in ODI cricket. The tie is not equally matched and India is a bit stronger,” said Chopra in his latest video of AakashVani.
