ICC took to Twitter to share their top 10 shared ICC tweets of 2017 and the chart was dominated by Pakistan.

New Delhi: The year of 2017 was a remarkable year as cricket reached new heights. With Pakistan lifting the ICC 2017 Champions Trophy in England to Indian men’s cricket team creating new records, it was an enthralling ride for the gentleman’s game, which remains as the highest sport for a lot of followers. International Cricket Council (ICC), relieving the favorite moments from the year passed by, on December 31 took to Twitter to share their top 10 shared ICC tweets of 2017 and the chart was dominated by Pakistan with 8 tweets among 10.

Tweets in the 10th, 9th and 8th places are associated with Pakistan’s ICC 2017 Champions Trophy win as they beat arch-rivals India by a 180-run margin in the final of the tournament. Till date, the particular tweet of Pakistan lifting the coveted trophy has 3529 Retweets (RTs).

In the seventh place, it’s India’s hitman Rohit Sharma, who recently smashed the joint-fastest T20I hundred against Sri Lanka in 35 balls, which included 11 fours and eight huge sixes.

At no.6 and no.5 is Tweet of Virat Kohli-led India, after suffering a shock defeat, congratulating Pakistan for winning the ICC CT 2017 finals and Sarfraz Ahmed-led Pakistan lifting the desired CT title in their splendid white jackets. The tweet accumulated 4823 RTs.

Positioned at no.4 is ICC’s throw-back Tweet of Yuvraj Singh smashing England’s Stuart Broad for six sixes in an over in the 2007 T20I Cricket World Cup and thus creating a T20I history. In that match, Yuvraj hit 58 runs off just 16 balls. Yuvraj’s outstanding feat is etched into everybody’s memory and still is one of the most celebrated moments of the game.

The top three most shared ICC tweets are about the celebration of Pakistan winning the CT 2017 title with a little glimpse of their dressing room festivities. In no.2, with almost 8000 RTs, is the recognition of Pakistan cricket’s latest addition to their trophy cabinet — the 2017 Champions Trophy.

Topping the list is the video of Indian skipper Virat Kohli and Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik sharing a light moment with each other during the presentation ceremony of the Champions Trophy final.

This list is enough to prove that India-Pakistan rivalry is the greatest in cricket. For both the nations, it’s not just a game, it’s the emotion, it’s the fight for supremacy and then comes the trolling battle on social media. No wonder why cricket is one of the most watched games worldwide.
