Build-up: Pakistan’s performance in Test cricket has been impressive, thus the world number one title. However, if there is one format the Green Shirts have struggled that has to be 50-over cricket. Going by latest ODI rankings, Pakistan are ranked ninth. And that shows how they have fared in ODIs in recent times.

Pakistan have called back veteran pacer Umar Gul and he looked in good shape against Ireland, picking three wickets in the only ODI. However, he will be eyeing to produce some magical spells against England. And that really will count. There is a possibility that Pakistan will field the winning combination and that means fast bowler Wahab Riaz and leggie Yasir Shah will continue to warm the bench.

As far as England are concerned they will be happy to have services of all-rounder Ben Stokes, who featured in only one Test against Pakistan. Alex Hales will partner Jason Roy at top with Joe Root, Eoin Morgan to follow. Few selection headaches for England in the bowling department. However, after an impressive Test series Chris Woakes is all set to head the attack.

Teams:

England: Jason Roy, Alex Hales, Joe Root, Eoin Morgan(c), Jos Buttler(w), Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, David Willey, Adil Rashid, Liam Plunkett, Mark Wood, Ben Stokes, Chris Jordan, Liam Dawson.

Pakistan: Azhar Ali(c), Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Babar Azam, Sarfraz Ahmed(w), Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim, Hasan Ali, Umar Gul, Mohammad Amir, Yasir Shah, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Rizwan, Sami Aslam.
