After dominating Pakistan in five-match ODI series, England will look to cap off their summer with a win T20I win. The two sides after settling for 2-2 draw in Tests, saw a one-sided contest in ODI series. England won the first four matches while Pakistan secured a consolation win in final ODI. Eoin Morgan will continue to lead England while there is a change in guard for Pakistan. Wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed takes charge of the T20 side and will be eager to do well in his first assignment. In the ODI series, Sarfraz was Pakistan’s leading run scorer and his form will be key in this lone T20 match.
The Pakistan T20 team sees the edition of few players like, Sohail Tanvir, Khalid Latif and youngster Amad Butt while core of the team remains the same. Sharjeel Khan Babar Azam, Shoaib Malik and skipper Sarfraz remain Pakistan’s best bet with the bat. In bowling department, Mohammad Amir will lead the attack. It remains to be seen whether Wahab Riaz finds a place in the playing xi or not.
On the other hand, England’s T20 setup almost identical to their ODI side. Sam Billings and Tymal Mills are the only new additions. England’s limited-overs side has been in good form and will be hoping to continue their impressive form.
This lone T20I match will have no impact on the rankings except for change in rating points. England is fifth while Pakistan is seventh on the ICC rankings for T20I.
