Pakistan capped off their England tour with a win in one-off T20I. Chasing 136, Pakistan reached the target in 14.5 overs with nine wickets to spare. Pakistan once again showed why they are a world class side by dismantling England at Old Trafford. After England had opted to bat, openers Jason Roy and Alex Hales got off to a decent start. However, in middle overs, England faltered and kept losing wickets. Imad Wasim removed both the England openers to set the tone for Pakistan. The spinner finished with figures of 17 for two in his four overs.
Debutant Hasan Ali and Wahab Riaz then shared five wickets between them as England struggled to get going. Sohail Tanvir and Mohammad Amir bowled well in patches. Wahab, who was adjudged man of the match, scalped three wickets while Hasan chipped in with two wickets.
Hales was the top scorer for England with 37 off 26 balls as middle and late middle order crumbled courtesy some superb bowling by Pakistan.
With not so much big target to chase, Pakistan started off aggressively with Sharjeel and Latif notching a hundred-run stand. The duo attacked upfront, and that never allowed England bowlers to make a comeback.
The Pakistani opening pair was then separated with Adil Rashid removing Sharjeel. The left-hander scored 59 off3 balls and smashed seven fours and three sixes. With the bulk of work done, Babar Azam came out to bat in at number three.
He along with Latif then finished the things for Pakistan. Latif too scored 59 and consumed 42 balls. He slammed eight fours and two sixes during his unbeaten stay at the crease. Babar hit the winning boundary and remained unbeaten on 15. Rashid was the lone England bowler to take a wicket.
