Pakistan cricket team will need to get back to winning ways if they hope to keep the three-match T20I series alive against South Africa in the second T20I game at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Friday. The home side crumbled to a 55-run loss in the opener at Rawalpindi earlier this week.
It was the second successive loss for the hosts in different formats after losing the second Test at Rawalpindi earlier this month. South Africans piled up an impressive 194 for 9 after batting first in spite of missing several first-choice players due to injury.
Opener Reeza Hendricks top-scored with 60 while Quinton de Kock, returning to international cricket, smashed a quickfire 23 off 13 balls. All-rounder George Linde also chipped in with 36 off 22 balls. For Pakistan, left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz was the pick of the bowlers claimed 3/26 while Saim Ayub claimed a couple of wickets.
In reply, Pakistan were never in the hunt although Ayub scored 37 off 28 balls and Nawaz chipped in with the bat as well, scoring 36 off 20 balls. But former Pakistan skipper Babar Azam was disappointingly dismissed for a duck by Corbin Bosch, who was the pick of the bowlers claiming 4/14.
Pakistan may look to make a few changes by possibly bringing in Muhammad Wasim Jr or Salman Mirza to replace Naseem Shah, who was expensive with the ball. They may also bring in Abdul Samad to replace struggling Hasan Nawaz.
