Pakistan cap off their successful Sri Lanka tour with an impressive one-wicket win in the 2nd T20, thus winning the two-match series 2-0. In a remarkable come back the visitors chased down the target of 173 with one wicket and four balls to spare. The highlight of Pakistan’s chase was the cameos played by Shahid Afridi, Anwar Ali and Imad Wasim. Pakistan captain brought his team back in the hunt with a blistering 22-ball 45, which included four huge sixes and a four. Once Afridi departed, Anwar Ali took the charge and pummelled Sri Lankan bowlers to bring Pakistan close to the required target. He lasted only 17 balls but scored at a magnificent strike-rate of 270.59 runs to pile up 46 runs. His knock comprised of three fours and four sixes that gave Pakistan the much-needed impetus towards the end.
It all came down to last over with Pakistan needing six runs. Mohammad Irfan did well to squeeze in a single on the first ball of the over and then left-handed Imad Wasim smashed Binura Fernando for a six to hit the winning runs. For Sri Lanka Chamara Kapugedera was top scorer with unbeaten 48 off 25 balls. He was well supported by Shehan Jayasuriya (40 off 32 balls) and Milinda Siriwardana (23 off 91 balls).
