International cricket is all set to resume in Pakistan after a gap of six years as Zimbabwe visit the country for a limited-overs series, featuring three one-day internationals (ODI) and two T20s. After the attack on Sri Lankan cricket team’s bus that was heading towards the venue in 2009, international cricket in Pakistan went absent, with teams refusing to tour the South Asian country due to security reasons. Also Read- #CricketComesHome: Pakistan all set to stage international cricket after six years.

Now, Zimbabwe has agreed to play a series it brings the excitement not only for fans but for Pakistan cricketers as well. Azhar Ali, the current ODI skipper, who has featured in 41 Tests and 17 ODIs is yet to play a match on home soil. Like Azhar, some of his teammates also know nothing about how it feels playing international cricket at home.

Zimbabwe becomes the first Test playing nation to tour Pakistan since 2009 terrorist attack. The historic tour kick-starts with T20 series first of which will be played on May 22, Friday. The second T20 is scheduled on May 24, Sunday. The three-match ODI series begins from May 26. Second ODI will be played on May 29 and the last ODI on May 31. The visitors will be playing all their games in the Gadaffi stadium in Lahore.
