Paralympic Committee of India Suspends Para Swimmer Prasanta Karmakar For Three Years

New Delhi, Mar 1: Paralympic Committee of India has suspended para swimmer Prasanta Karmakar for a period of three years over charges of recording videos of female swimmers.

The renowned swimmer is famous for bringing many laurels to the nation with his performance in the pool. He was the 2016 Rio Paralympic games swimming team coach.

The Arjuna Award awardee, Karmakar was honoured with the Major Dhyan Chand Award in 2015 and Bheem Award in 2014. He has also been conferred with Swimmer of the Year award in 2009 and 2011.

Paralympic Committee of India suspended Para swimmer Prasanta Karmakar for 3 years for recording video of female swimmers.

He is also the first disabled swimmer to represent India at the World Swimming Championship in Argentina and to win a medal.
