Two-time Pro Kabbadi League champions Patna Pirates defeated Telugu Titans to kick off their campaign with a thrilling 35-29 victory.

Pradeep Narwal was awarded ‘Perfect Raider of the Match’ while Vishal Bhardwaj received ‘Player of the Match’ for scoring five points for Telugu Titans. Meanwhile, ‘Sahi hai Player’ was given to Rahul Chaudhari.

In the first half of the match both teams kept themselves in check, but in the second half big change was seen. In the second half, Telugu Titians led the points tally 21-17 but Patna Pirates’ Pradeep Narwal did an outstanding job as he alone helped his team to gain 15 points from 11 raids, including a super 10 from dubki. Narwal’s super 10 has changed the course of the match while Telugu Titians’ Rahul Chaudhari spent most of the time of second at the bench.

For Patna Pirates alongside Narwal Monu Goyat scored eight points from three raids. Telugu Titans led the points tally most of the parts of second half. They kept their lead 25-23 in the second half for minutes but Narwal and Goyat changed the course of the match utilising their skills. Meanwhile, Telugu Titans missed some tricks today. Their defense was sloppy and key raider Chaudhari has had a forgettable outing though he scored seven points from tackles while Nilesh Salunke scored six points for Titans.
