Australian batsman Phillip Hughes passed away on Thursday morning following the injury he suffered on the head during South Australia’s Sheffield Shield match on Monday against New South Wales. The cricketing world and fans came out to pour their heartfelt condolences to Hughes on Twitter on Thursday morning. Hughes, who was expected to be a part of Australia’s squad following Michael Clarke’s backout due to injury for the upcoming series against India was hit by a nasty bouncer from Sean Abbott. The left-hander was soon shifted to St Vincent’s Hospital, a local hospital in Sydney where he was in a critical condition for over three days before eventually succumbing to the injury.
