A total of eight players, including seven Indians, crossed the ₹1 crore mark during the auction for the 11th season of the Pro Kabaddi League on Thursday. Raider Sachin Tanwar and Iran’s Mohammadreza Shadloui Cheyaneh emerged as the top earners amid intense bidding wars.
Sachin became the most expensive player ever on the first day of the auction in Category A, joining Tamil Thalaivas for ₹2.15 crore. Meanwhile, all-rounder Shadloui was acquired by Haryana Steelers for ₹2.07 crore.
Indian star Pawan Sehrawat, who remains the overall costliest player in PKL history at ₹2.605 crore from last year’s auction, was retained by Telugu Titans for ₹1.725 crore. Initially, the bidding for Sehrawat was slow, despite his record-breaking prices in the last two auctions. U Mumba and Bengaluru Bulls engaged in a prolonged battle to secure him, but it was his former team, Telugu Titans, who swooped in to bring him back on board.
