Cristiano Ronaldo added to his tally of 84 international goal when he broke the deadlock in the 4th-minute against Morocco in Portugal’s second match in the tournament. Ronaldo had scored a hat-trick against Spain which took his tally from 81 goals to 84 and with the goal against Morocco he has gone past Hungary’s Ferenc Puskas to become Europe’s all-time top international scorer.
Puskas had 84 goals which meant CR7 needed a solitary goal to go past him and he did it in style with a brave header.

Meanwhile, Portugal drew 3-3 against a formidable Spain line-up. It was a big result for the Portugal team as they did not go into the match as favourites at least on paper. If Portugal win against Morocco which looks on the cards, it would solidify Portugal’s chances of making it to the knockouts and that would also make it difficult for Spain who would need to win all their remaining matches and make sure they have the goals as well.
Ronaldo is just behind Ali Daei of Iran who has 109 international goals to his name. Ronaldo has a goal percentage of 0.56 goals/match whereas Puskas has 0.94. Ali has 0.73 goals/match. Sunil Chhetri is the only Indian who has found a spot in the elite list, he shares the 21st spot with Lionel Messi.
