The Transfer season is on-going with all the major clubs looking to improve their squads and battle it out to secure the signatures of some of the finest footballers around.

Football’s extravagant transfer values increase every year, with Neymar’s move to PSG last year setting the record for  most expensive transfer at 222 million Euros. This year again, there is certain to be more drama, more money in the transfer market.

Arsenal:
The Gunners are set to revamp their defensive line-up as they look to finalize a move for Borussia Dortmund’s centre back, Sokratis PapastathopoulosAccording to Daily Mail, a deal has been agreed and the North London giants will pay an initial 16 million pounds for the 30 year old Greece international.

The Club’s defensive performance over the last couple of seasons have been unstable, giving away several errors which has cost them matches. With the addition of Sokratis, he would bring substantial experience to Arsenal’s defense.

The club are also looking to add young legs to their squad as they line up a £35 million move for Freiburg centre-back Caglar Soyuncu, reports the Daily Mail.

According to Soyuncu’s agent, Mustafa Dogru, there are “concrete talks” between the player and the Gunners, and “all that remains is for a fee to be agreed.”

The club is also linked with a move to sign Marouane Fellaini on a free transfer, who is yet to sign a contract with Manchester United.

Arsenal’s Head of Recruitment, Sven Mislintat will look to provide the new manager, Unai Emery with all the firepower to make the club serious title challengers with Juventus’s Stephan Lichtsteiner’s signature already secured on a free transfer.

Liverpool: Liverpool’s deal to secure the highly-rated french international, Nebil Fekir have broken down with the 24-year old failing to pass the medical examination at Liverpool.
Fekir, had a stellar season with Lyon, finding the back of the net 23 times and providing 8 assists throughout the season.
The Reds are now eyeing Xhedran Shaqiri, who confirmed that he will look to change following Stoke City’s relegation.

Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp could be eyeing a deal for Stoke City star Xherdan Shaqiri after a transfer for Lyon star Nail Fekir collapsed.

According to The Sun, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp wants to add another goalkeeper at his varsity, who can provide them consistency. Something which was lacked by the two current keepers Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet.

The Sunday Mirror claims that Everton boss Marco Silva wants out of favor Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof. The Swedish centre back has failed to live up to his expectations after making a 30.7 million pound move to Old Trafford.

Tottenham : Harry Kane signed a new 6-year contract with Tottenham, putting the rumors linking him with a move to Real Madrid to rest.

The news came as great deal of joy for Spurs fans fostering the feeling of a ‘major new signing’ as the striker is currently one of the world’s best, scoring 41 goals in 48 appearances and winning the golden boot twice.

Kane spoke to Tottenham’s official website, “I’m really excited, it’s a proud day, obviously it’s been a great few seasons and I’m looking forward to the future. I’m looking forward to the new stadium first and foremost and just to keep progressing as a club.  It’s been a great season, like always the aim is to try to improve so hopefully I can do that this summer and obviously next season as well.”

Spurs are also looking to secure a €30 million deal to sign Benfica full-back Alex Grimaldo, reports Record.

Manchester City: According to the Daily Mirror, Riyad Mahrez is set to join Manchester City from Leicester this summer. The former PFA Player of The Year was close to joining the Premier League champions earlier this January. The deal broke down after Manchester City backed out from paying the asking price of 80 million pounds for the Algerian’s services.

Chelsea: According to Gazzetta dello Sport, ‘The Blues’ are eyeing 27 year old Roma full-back Alessandro Florenzi.
