Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s special message is just what debutantes Afghanistan needed ahead of their Test debut against India at Test at MA Chinnaswamy, Bengaluru. It has been a fairytale ride for a rare bunch of Afghanistani cricketers, who fought all odds with one dream and are on the verge of living it.

It is a tale that will give you goosebumps to imagine a bunch of cricketers, without world-class facilities and lack of finance are going to be ICC’s Test’s, new baby.

With under 24 hours left to go for the match, Prime Minister’s Office has issued a statement, which reads, “It is a matter of great pride and immense pleasure that Afghanistan has chosen to play its maiden Test match with India. Today, cricket is a unifying force for the people of Afghanistan. India takes pride in being shoulder-to-shoulder with Afghanistan in this journey. It is an honor for India to host the Afghan national team at home ground in Greater Noida and Dehradun.”

Modi also highlighted the challenging circumstances from where they had come so far and that it was highly commendable.

Meanwhile, Modi completed Virat Kohli’s challenge. Indian regular skipper Virat Kohli had challenged the PM to do the #HumFitTohIndiaFit challenge, a trend that was started by the honorable Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. The post by Modi read, “Here are moments from my morning exercises. Apart from Yoga, I walk on a track inspired by the Panchtatvas or 5 elements of nature – Prithvi, Jal, Agni, Vayu, Aakash. This is extremely refreshing and rejuvenating. I also practice breathing exercises.”
