Pulwama Attacks: India cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has come out and spoken on the snowballing India-Pakistan World Cup tie. Chahal feels it is not in his hands and BCCI will take the last call on the subject. He also insisted it is high time India takes strong actions against Pakistan.

“It’s not in our hands, if BCCI says, we will play if they say no then we won’t. I think it is high time, we need to take firm action. I am not saying all people there(Pakistan) are at fault but those who are responsible should be acted against,” said Chahal to ANI.

Meanwhile, Congress minister Shashi Tharoor who is a big cricket fan took to Twitter and batted for the tie and gave a classic example of Kargil. He talks about the Kargil War when the tensions were at its peak, yet India played Pakistan in a World Cup tie in England and beat them. Tharoor feels if India do not participate, it would be like surrender. His post read, “Reminder: at the height of the 1999 Kargil War, India played Pakistan in the cricket World Cup, & won. To forfeit the match this year would not just cost two points: it would be worse than surrender, since it would be defeat without a fight.”

Earlier, Pakistan-backed Jaish-e-Mohammed took the responsibility of the attack. The attack is one of the deadliest ever on Indian forces, it killed 40 CRPF jawans and left many injured.
