Catch all the live updates here as Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu is all set to clash with her rival Carolina Marin in the quarter-final of the Singapore Open Super Series on Friday. They have played twice in the last four months where Sindhu came out victorious – Dubai Superseries Finals and in the final of the India Open.
The match will be the fifth one on court one and is expected to start at around 5 PM IST and it promises to add another chapter in the riveting rivalry of Sindhu and Olympic gold medallist Marin.
Earlier in the day, Sai Praneeth defeated Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand 15-21, 21-14, 21-19 to enter the men’s singles semi-final, however, in the mixed doubles, India had to face dejection as the pair of Ashwini Ponnappa and Sumeeth Reddy lost to Chinese pair of Lu Kai and Huang Yaqiong in straight games (11-21, 8-21).
Sindhu and Marin have stretched each other to the limit and the current head to head record is 5-5, hence, both the players will be desperate to win this encounter to show their domination over other.
