Ranji Trophy 2018-19: Veteran Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir announced his retirement earlier this week. He played his last game which was a Ranji Trophy clash between Delhi and Andhra Pradesh this week as he called it a day on his 15-year-old illustrious career. During the Ranji Trophy game, he got amongst the runs and scored a brilliant century to script a perfect ending to his career. Gambhir notched up a total of 31362 runs in his first-class career including list matches and T20 cricket. The Delhi based cricketer scored 22484 solely on Indian soil, with which he has surpassed Dravid’s 21237 runs just behind Sachin’s mammoth 24452 runs. Gambhir has also played a pivotal role in Indian cricketer, he is two-time World Cup (2007 World T20, ICC 2011 World Cup). He has also been amongst one of the most successful and consistent run-getters in the cash-rich IPL, where he led the Shah Rukh Khan co-owned Kolkata Knight Riders franchise to two titles (2012,2014).
