On the other hand, Gujarat too were housed in Group A and ended on the second position. In the quarter-final, Parthiv Patel-led side defeated Odisha and then in semis defeated Jharkhand to set up the finals clash with defending champions. The two sides met earlier in the tournament and the match ended in a draw. However, Gujarat earned three points from the match courtesy their first innings lead. Jasprit Bumrah picked 6/71 as Gujarat restricted Mumbai to 422 after scoring 437 in their first innings.
