“After enjoying a few days of rest over the festive break, Real Madrid are back to training,” the club said on its website.

“The reigning world champions started off using the indoor facilities, training in the gym,” the statement explained. “After that they took to the pitch to complete running exercises at different intensities.”

Madrid also added that Team B defender Javi Sánchez joined the team for practice, and another group session is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.
