Rishabh Pant played one of the best cameos of the ongoing edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) as he single-handedly took Delhi Capitals a step closer to the coveted title. Pant smacked 49 off just 21 balls as Delhi Capitals chased down 163 versus Sunrisers Hyderabad with two wickets in hand and 1 ball to spare in the Eliminator on Tuesday. With his audacity and ability to play big shots under pressure, Pant eclipsed SRH’s comeback to secure an entry for Delhi in Qualifier 2 of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Bollywood veteran actor and producer Rishi Kapoor expressed his reservations over the ouster of Pant from the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. Rishi ji also questioned Indian skipper Virat Kohli and head coach Ravi Shastri for their tactics in the showpiece event. Through his official Twitter handle, Mr Kapoor posted a question and tagged both Kohli and Shastri, saying – “Why is Rishabh Pant not in the squad for the World Cup? You there? @RaviShastriOfc @imVkohli”!

Here’s Rishi Kapoor’s Tweet:

The 21-year-old’s knock was laced with five sixes and two boundaries coming at a strike-rate of 233.33. Despite a strong start from openers Shikhar Dhawan and Shikhar Dhawan, Delhi Capitals were in all sorts of trouble while chasing 163. A late comeback by SRH bowlers, especially Rashid Khan and Khaleel Ahmed saw Delhi reeling at 111 for 5 in the 15th over.

With more than 10 runs needed per over, the onus was on Pant to deliver and he did not disappoint. He took the attack to the opposition and almost took Delhi over the line before departing in the 19th over when his side needed 5 runs from 7 balls. Keemo Paul then sealed the thrilling game with a cracking four. Pant was later named ‘Man of the Match’ for his match-winning cameo.
