Roger Federer – undoubtedly one of the biggest name tennis world has come across successfully ventures into yet other semi-finals at All England Club. Wimbledon remains to be special and close to the heart of the Swiss master who has won it seven times. In an attempt to win the glorious title for record eighth time, Federer faces a stiff challenge in form of Canadian Milos Raonic.
Everyone sees this year’s Wimbledon as the best chance for 32-year-old Federer and even the seventeen times grand slam winner knows it very well. Federer who comes off a fairly tough match against fellow countryman Stan Wawrinka in the quarter-finals knows the competition Raonic is going to bring in the semis.
Eighth seed Milos Raonic has been a revelation for Canada along with country woman Eugenie Bouchard who is taking the ladies’ singles by storm. Raonic who is aiming to become the first male finalist for Canada was clinical in his approach against hard-hitting ‘giant killer’ Nick Kyrgios in the quarters. Many see this match as the experience vs youth as on one hand Federer will be second oldest finalist in Era history while if Raonic makes the cut, he would become the youngest after Murray made in 2010.
Playing his ninth Wimbledon semi-finals, Roger Federer has the advantage over inexperienced Milos Raonic who made his first semi-finals stage appearance. Federer has defeated Raonic on all his four previous meetings but Raonic looks a changed man since the beginning of this year.
Roger Federer who has handled big serving players all his life understands Milos Raonic game. He would start as the favourite against his young opponent but needs to be cautious as the if Raonic gets off to a quick start it could be problems for the former champion.
