5th ODI: Hopes were pinned on India opener Rohit Sharma during the 273-chase in the ongoing fifth and final game at Feroz Shah Kotla. India was hoping for a good, steady start but that was not to be as Dhawan (12) departed early. Kohli (20), Pant (16), Shankar (16) followed and all the India hopes were shifted directly to Rohit who also became the fastest to 6000 ODI runs as an opener when he was on 18. Rohit was finding the going tough against a wily Zampa. Zampa came close to picking Rohit on a number of occasions before he finally got his wicket when Rohit decided to smash the leggie out of the park only to lose his shape and the grip of the bat. The bat went flying to the man at 45.
Here is the video of the embarrassing dismissal:
During his knock of 56, Rohit also breached the 8000-run-mark in ODI cricket becoming the third fastest after AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli to do so. Rohit was not at his fluent best as he scored at a strike-rate of 62.
At the time of filing the copy, India was reeling at 156/6 in the 35th over. Kedar Jadhav and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are in the middle trying to inch close to the Australian total.
