On the day Gujarat notched up a history at Holker Stadium in Indore beating Mumbai in the 83rd Ranji Trophy final, pacer RP Singh got involved in controversy during the match. The discarded Indian pacer was requested to take a selfie with a fan, who was watching the match from the stand. Singh instead of refusing or obliging snatched the phone out of the hands of one of the fans and threw it to the side.
Earlier it was reported that the left arm medium pacer had shown the middle finger to a woman during the final match between Gujarat and Mumbai.

RP Singh was once a regular bowler for India but his injury-plagued career got over in 2011. He also changed his Ranji team. His Ranji career started with Uttar Pradesh and now he plays for Gujarat.
On the final day of the Ranji Trophy Gujarat captain, Parthiv Patel scored 143 which helped the Gujarat to win the coveted title for the first time.
