The Union Sports Ministry on Tuesday sanctioned financial assistance of rupees five lakh to former archer Ashok Soren, who is currently living in an indigent condition in Jamshedpur.

Media reports had emerged that the 28-year-old was working as a labourer under the government’s rural employment guarantee scheme.
