Considered as best of the friends during their playing days, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman share a great rapport both on and off the field. Both Sachin and Laxman are the legends of the game and once used to form the fulcrum of India’s famed batting unit in the cricket’s most pristine format. Giving the world a glimpse of their beautiful camaraderie, very very special Laxman shared a throwback video in which Tendulkar was seen giving him practice inside Team India’s dressing room.
On Thursday, Laxman shared the video on his official Instagram handle where he can be seen facing a few deliveries bowled by none other than Master Blaster (Tendulkar) in the dressing room. The incident happened in 2008 during the India vs England Test match at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. He captioned the post, “Practice given by my friend @sachintendulkar in the dressing room during Ind vs eng Chennai test in 2008”.
Earlier, both Tendulkar and Laxman were served notices by BCCI’s Ombudsman-cum-Ethics Officer DK Jain for their alleged ‘conflict of interest’ by serving as mentors of IPL franchise as well as a member of Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC). Tendulkar is Mumbai Indians’ mentor and Laxman is in the same capacity for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
This is the third case of conflict of interest allegation being filed after former skipper Sourav Ganguly had to appear before Justice (retd.) Jain for deposition for his triple role as CAB president, CAC member as well as advisor of Delhi Capitals.
All three were part of CAC that picked the senior national coach Ravi Shastri in July 2017, which was their last meeting.
