Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar on Friday expressed his emotions after Team India’s tribute for the martyrs of the recent Pulwama terror attack in Kashmir. The former batsman took to social media to express how he felt – in effect, putting into words, what the entire nation felt by the classy gesture of the Men in Blue ahead of the Third One Day International (ODI) against Australia in Ranchi.

Right after the toss took place at Ranchi’s JSCA International Stadium Complex, skipper Virat Kohli said that the Indian cricket team will be dedicating the match fees to the Pulwama martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the recent terror attack in Kashmir. In honour of the Armed forces, all the members of Team India will also don camouflage caps.

Resharing the video posted by BCCI, Sachin posted on social media with the caption,  “This one touched my heart.” This gesture by the Indian cricket team touched everyone’s heart across the nation who watched this moment on their television sets and internet.

“This is a special cap, it’s a tribute to our Armed forces. We’re all donating our match fees of this game to the families of the martyrs. I urge everyone in the country to do the same and stick to the families of our armed forces,”  Kohli said after the toss on Friday.

Former captain MS Dhoni — who was honored with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel himself a few years ago —  presented the cap to Virat Kohli and the team after the warm-up at the ahead of the third ODI.

At least 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and several were left injured in the Pulwama attack in Kashmir on 14th February which sparked outrage nationwide.
