England’s young cricketing prodigy Sum Curran displayed a stellar effort as he bagged the first hattrick of Indian Premier League’s (IPL) ongoing season for his Punjab Kings XI side in their clash against the Delhi Capitals on Monday. In what is his debut season, the English all-rounder is giving the opposition batsmen some serious concerns with his performance.

In the IPL match 13, which took place at King’s XI home ground in Mohali, the 20-year-old all-rounder rattled Delhi with the figures of 4/11 which included a hattrick. Curran was aided by Mohammed Shami to dismiss the shaken visitors for 152 in 19.2 overs in their pursuit of the 167-run target.

Curran got his hattrick with the wickets of the Delhi Capitals tail with the dismissal of Harshal Patel, which was followed by two immaculate yorkers to see off Kagiso Rabada and Sandeep Lamichhane respectively.

Following his sensational performance, fans and pundits came together to his praise, here are some reactions:

Curran became the third Punjab player to record a hat-trick after talismanic Yuvraj Singh achieved the feat twice in the 2009 season and Axar Patel in 2016 of the T20 extravaganza.
