Their in-form singles player and world number five, Ana Ivanovic, lost her individual singles set to Kristina Mladenovic, 21-year-old world no. 63 in the WTA Rankings. After a jittery start, it was India’s leading mixed doubles pair of Sania Mirza and Rohan Bopanna who last thrashed the Andy Murray-Maria Sharapova pair on Saturday, stepped up for the daunting task of squaring the set to 1-1. More than winning the set, they helped the Indian Aces side with a lead on game points. But the biggest surprise came in form of Gael Monfils and Rohan Bopannna winning their doubles match against solid-looking Marin Cilic/Nenad Zimoonjic pair. Before this match, the Indo-French pair has just won two game points in two match.

Gael Monfils, who is looking to play the tennis of life in IPTL returned to play his singles match against Marin Cilic. After three game points, Cilic pulled off the set with Tunisian player Malek Jaziri replacing him. But Jaziri could not manage to stand the Gael-Force eventually losing the set. The last set featuring past champions once again saw Indian Aces player-coach Fabrice Santoro emerging victorious against Goran Ivanisevic.
