Serie A: Cristiano Ronaldo added another jewel to his crown when he scored his 19th goal of the season against Frosinone in the 63rd minute. He equaled John Charles’ record set in 1958 when he found the back of the net. It has been a phenomenal season for the Portuguese footballer who is setting new benchmarks in football every day. Earlier, it was Paulo Dybala and Leonardo Bonucci who gave Juventus a 2-0 lead in the game, before Ronaldo’s goal sealed the day for Juventus. Juventus won the game 3-0 on Friday at the Allianz Stadium.

“It was a good match, for rhythm and for the technical level shown. We did something wrong in the second half, but the result was already safe and we were good at closing the game before,” defender Mattia De Sciglio said.

During the 1957-58 season, Charles had done the same, when the Welshman had arrived at Juventus from Leeds United in the summer of 1957.

Juventus will be visiting Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday, which is expected to be a humdinger. “The feelings are positive, although we are aware that it will be a very difficult game,” De Sciglio said of the upcoming match. “The qualification will be played over 180 minutes, but already on Wednesday we will have the right attitude from the first minute.”

Juventus are currently 14 points clear of second-placed Napoli as they chase an eighth successive title.
