Shiv Sena threatens to stop Aleem Dar from officiating in India vs South Africa 5th ODI in Mumbai

Dar, who is part of Elite Panel of ICC umpires, is currently officiating in the ongoing series between India and South Africa

After disrupting the scheduled meeting between Board for Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Shashank Manohar and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan, Shiv Sena has decided to protests against Pakistani Umpire Aleem Dar.  Also Read- Twitterati divided over Shiv Sena’s protest at BCCI office in Mumbai

According to various reports, Shiv Sena has now threatened to stop Dar from officiating in the fifth and final One-Day International (ODI) between India and South Africa in Mumbai this Sunday. This comes after Sainiks stormed into the BCCI headquarters on Monday morning and threatened Shashank Manohar to cancel talks with PCB members.

Following protests, the scheduled talks between BCCI president and Shahryar Khan were eventually cancelled in Mumbai. Dar, who is part of Elite Panel of ICC umpires, is currently officiating in the ongoing series between India and South Africa. The meeting between BCCI and PCB officials has now been rescheduled and will take place in New Delhi on Tuesday evening.

Shiv Sena has been maintaining its tough stance against Pakistanis. Fearing attacks from Sainiks the organiser cancelled Ghulam Ali’s concert in Mumbai and Pune. Past week, Sudheendra Kulkarni, who had invited former Pakistani Minister Khurshid M Kasuri for a book launch ceremony in Mumbai, was smeared with ink by Shiv Sena workers.
