Shubman Gill starts an INTENSE Batting practice session after T20 World Cup Snub, He is now preparing for…

New Delhi: After being left out of the squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup, Shubman Gill has chosen to focus on rebuilding himself rather than succumbing to disappointment. Following the selection snub, Gill has dedicated himself to batting practice and domestic cricket, aiming for a stronger comeback in future opportunities.

Out of the T20 World Cup, but spirits remain high

Shubman Gill did not find a place in the squad for the 2026 T20 World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. Gill, who was the vice-captain for the T20 series against South Africa, was overlooked for the home World Cup, where Axar Patel was appointed vice-captain.

Intensive practice in Mohali, focus on batting

Immediately after being dropped from the team, Gill began rigorous practice at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali. During the net sessions, he played some excellent shots on both the off and leg sides, further honing his technique ahead of the new year.

Still a key player for Team India in ODIs

Even though he didn’t make the T20 squad, Gill remains an important part of the Indian team in the ODI format. He will join Team India for the three-match ODI series against New Zealand from January 11 to 18, where a significant role is expected of him.
