Singapore, Apr 14: Kidambi Srikanth and B Sai Praneeth entered the semifinals of men’s singles at the Singapore Open Superseries here on Friday. While Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu and mixed doubles pair of B Sumeeth Reddy and Ashwini Ponnappa crashed out after losing their quarterfinal matches.

Praneeth earned a hard-fought win after getting the better of eighth seed Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk of Thailand 15-21, 21-14, 21-19 in an hour and 11 minutes. Praneeth will take on South Korean Lee Dong Keun in the semis.

While Srikanth stormed into the last four after thrashing Chinese fifth seed Shi Yuqi 21-14, 21-16 in 36 minutes.

Sindhu suffered a tame 11-21, 15-21 defeat at the hands of Carolina Marin of Spain.
