Sri Lanka vs England 2nd Test: Keaton Jennings and Ben Foakes combine to pull off a stunning catch to dismiss Dimuth Karunaratne in the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka. Karunaratne on 57 and well-set, swept a ball from Adil Rashid, Jennings stationed at backward short leg tried to escape the full-blooded hit but fortunately for him, the ball found him, hit him and lobbed up in the air at a comfortable height for wicketkeeper Ben Foakes who took the catch eventually. The credit should go to Foakes who was of the situation and never took his eyes of the ball. It was a massive breakthrough as the duo of Karunaratne and Matthews had stitched a partnership of 77 runs for the fourth wicket and the visitors were desperately looking to break the partnership. The incident we are talking about happened in the 28th over of the fourth innings with Sri Lanka chasing 301 on a Day 4 wicket.
Meanwhile, with Sri Lanka still needing 75 to win with three wickets in hand, it seems the game has tilted in favour of the visitors. It was Joe Root’s brilliant 124 in the second innings on a track turning square that set it up for the visitors. Currently, for the hosts, Niroshan Dickwell is unbeaten on 27 and seems to be the last hope for the hosts making a comeback.
