Star India cricketer SLAMS team India management over Rohit-Kohli debate, says, ‘People who…’
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's current form has silenced their critics with impressive on-field performances, and former teammate Harbhajan Singh has stepped forward to strongly defend them.
New Delhi: Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma’s current form has silenced their critics with impressive on-field performances, and former teammate Harbhajan Singh has stepped forward to strongly defend them. The legendary spinner questioned the credibility of those judging whether Kohli and Rohit still merit a place in the Indian team.
Speculation over the futures of the two stalwarts has been going around ever since they announced their Test retirements earlier this year. Having already stepped away from T20Is last year, both are now available solely for the ODIs
Team management hasn’t yet clarified Rohit-Kohli’s future plan
The team management hasn’t yet clarified whether the duo will be part of their plans for the 2027 ODI World Cup. However, Harbhajan expressed his frustration over the ongoing doubts surrounding Rohit and Kohli.
“It is beyond our understanding. I may not be able to answer because I have been a player myself and what I have seen has happened to me as well. It has happened to many of my teammates, but it is very unfortunate. We don’t talk about it or have a discussion about it,” Harbhajan told news agency PTI.

“I am so happy when I see a player like Virat Kohli who is still going strong. It is a bit unfortunate that those people are deciding about their future who have not achieved much,” he added.
Harbhajan parised Rohit-Kohli’s for consistently setting a positive example
Harbhajan, who is India’s fourth-highest wicket-taker in Tests with 417 dismissals, appreciated Rohit and Kohli for consistently setting a positive example for the next generation.
“They have always scored runs and have always been great players for India; they have done extremely well as batters and are leaders of the team. I’m so happy for them, they are going very, very strong. Not just going strong but setting the example for the younger generation to follow and what it takes to be a champion. So, well done Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma for setting the right example,” the 45-year-old said.
