Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Kings XI Punjab by 5 runs in the Indian Premier League on Monday night. Set a target of 160 for a win, Kings XI Punjab were shot out for 154 in 19.4 overs. There was only one batsman who got going for Punjab. Manan Vohra made 95 off 50 balls, hitting nine fours and five sixes. For Hyderabad, Bhuvneshwar Kumar got five wickets, conceding 19 runs in his quota of four overs.

Earlier, put into bat, Hyderabad posted 159 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Hyderabad rode on David Warner’s 70 not out to get a competitive score on the board. Warner slammed seven fours and two sixes in his knock as he completed 34 half centuries in the IPL, a record in the tournament’s history. There will be just the one match played on Tuesday as Gujarat Lions will host Royal Challengers Bangalore in Rajkot. It will be the 20th match in the competition.
Looking at the points table in the league, Kolkata Knight Riders lead the pack. Placed second are Mumbai Indians and Hyderabad jumped to take the third spot. Delhi Daredevils, Punjab and Rising Pune Supergiant take spots four, five and six respectively. Gujarat Lions are at number seven and Royal Challengers Bangalore are placed at the bottom of the league table.
