New Delhi: Discarded middle-order batsman Suresh Raina has cleared the Yo-Yo test with an impressive score of 17.2. With this, the left-handed batsman’s comeback to the Indian team seems a possibility now.

Raina, 31, has been working hard on his fitness at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore and looks like it has paid off. However, it remains to be seen whether he is recalled back in the side for limited-overs or not.

Previously, it was reported that Raina along with all-rounder Yuvraj Singh failed to clear the endurance test and thus were ignored for the national duty. Meanwhile, Raina took to social media to confirm that he has cleared the test. He also thanked his trainers, coaches and officials for the support.

“Cleared my Yo-Yo & fitness test today, after days of hard work at #NCA! Received tremendous support from all the trainers, coaches & officials. Thank you all!” Raina wrote in a post.

“It’s always so encouraging to train here at #NCA, motivates me to push my limits and bring the best out of me,” the left-hander added.

The Yo-Yo test has become one of the benchmarks for selection into the team India. Fitness has been the strength of the current Indian team with captain Virat Kohli leading by example.
