32-year-old Suresh Raina joined multiple lists during a Syed Mushtaq Ali match against Puducherry. Raina scored merely 12 runs but he joined former India skipper MS Dhoni, becoming only the second Indian player to play 300 T20 games. Raina also became the first Indian and only the 6th player to complete 8000 Twenty runs. He reached the milestone when he was on 11 today. Earlier in the tournament, he joined Rohit Sharma becoming the second Indian cricketer to hit 300 T20 sixes. The southpaw has been a part of great Indian wins, he was also a member of the 2011 World Cup-winning squad. He has also been a pivotal member of the successful Chennai Suoer Kings squad in the Indian Premier League 2019. He has been retained in the CSK and this season they would be defending their crown which they won last year.
With the Indian team now shaping up for the World Cup, it may be too late for Raina to force his case. But, he is a tryer and would keep impressing the selectors with good performances.
