Surgical Strike 2.0: Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir has been one of the most vocal voices, condemning the Pulwama attack. The southpaw had earlier urged the Indian government to give a befitting reply to the culprits. Once Surgical Strike 2.0 happened, he took to Twitter last evening and heaped praise on the armed forces as his caption read, “We decided the time, we decided the place and we have decided the fate 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳 @IAF_MCC @adgpi #SurgicalStrikes2 #airstrikes.”
This was his second post on post the incident. His reaction came a couple of hours after the incident when an elated Gambhir praised the astronomic effort from the Indian Air Force personnel.
Exactly twelve days after the ghastly terror attack in Pulwama region of Jammu & Kashmir, several Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets crossed the Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday morning and attacked terror camps in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK), completely destroying them. The strike by the Indian forces comes in less than two weeks after the Pulwama terror attack by the Pakistan-based terror outfit JeM where more than 40 CRPF jawans were killed.
“At 0330 hours on 26th February a group of Mirage 2000 Indian Fighter jets struck a major terrorist camp across the LoC and completely destroyed it,” IAF sources were quoted by ANI as saying.
Giving details about the operation, sources said that 12 Mirage 2000 jets took part in the operation that dropped 1000 Kg bombs on terror camps in the Balakot sector across LoC. The laser-guided bombs were dropped on the terror camps of Jaish-e-Mohammed terror camps in Balakot, Chakoti and Muzaffarabad, completely destroying them, said Army sources.
